Variability of Asters.
The variability seen in the patterns reflect stochastic differences in the random uniform initial configuration, and in the dynamics (stochastic binding of motors, brownian movement of tubules, etc. ). Plus-ended (green) and minus-ended (blue) motors share here the same characterisics (apart from their directionality). Since our simulation is symmetric with respect to plus/minus ends, all the simulations shown below can be compared directly. You can click on the pictures to animate them !
